
The Launch of Greener Impact Club in St John Preparatory School
As part of an effort to promote the participation of young people in safeguarding Ghana’s environment, through the Greener Impact Cub (GIC),Greener Impact International provides a platform for learning, networking, and sharing of ideas among its junior members. The Club (GIC) also seeks to unleash the leadership potentials of its members and nurtures them into becoming environmental stewards in their schools and home communities.
Since the institution of the GIC, with guidance from the staff of Greener Impact International, many schools have formed and launched chapters of GIC in their schools. St John Preparatory school in Accra is the latest to launch GIC. The launch was interactive with the students pledging their commitment to contributing to the promotion of environmental sustainability in country.
At the launch, the Research and Partnership Officer of Greener Impact International, Mr. Mathias Edetor, took the students through the plan of the club for the term. In a short message, Mr. Kassim Gawusu-Toure, the Executive Director of Greener Impact International, encouraged the club members to participate actively and take advantage of the opportunities the club presents to them.
“I appreciate the support from Greener Impact International in establishing this club and I will assure you of my commitment as a club leader to ensuring that the objectives for this club are achieved” said Mr. Baiden, the club leader in the school.
