
GII Member at UNEP Tunza International Youth Conference – 2013
Francisca Milingwa from GII – Tanzania represented Greener Impact International at the UNEP-TUNZA INTERNATIONAL YOUTH
CONFERENCE held in Nairobi- Kenya from 10th to 15th of February, 2013.
”My sincere gratitude’s goes out to Greener Impact International for giving me an opportunity to represent them in the UNEP – Tunza youth conference. It was a very educational conference for me.”
The conference theme was “Health and Environment” and was based on a strategy that aims to provide young people with information and tools on how to “treat the earth with care” and how to act a better world.
The Conference brought together about 250 youth from about 100 countries all over the world. It was five days of conferencing and regional meetings as well as elections of the new regional advisors known as Tunza Advisory Youth Council (TYAC). The conference delegates also had the chance to have a safari walk in the Nairobi national park on the first day of the conference. The Tunza conference was five days of learning, sharing, networking and exposure to different global environmental activities.
